Frequently Asked Questions Page
-
How can I clone my Airkey?
- In short - you can't. Due to the high security rolling code digital transmission or Airkeys, it is not possible to clone an Airkey or use a cloning remote control to operate an Airkey receiver.
I am residing or working in an apartment or strata complex. How do I get another or replacement Airkey?
- Airkeys used in grouped or strata premises are invariably supplied by the caretaker or body corporate responsible for access control in the complex.
I am the owner of a house or business with it's own gate or door. How do I get another or replacement Airkey?
- The best people to purchase additional Airkeys from is the company that originally installed the automatic gate or door. If they are not known, have a look in the "proudly supplied by ..." section of the Airkey label or have a look at the gate/door motor for any stickers that may have been placed by the installer or gate service company.
My Airkey is a few years old and is gradually getting less range. How do I fix it?
- If the Airkey is gradually yielding less range, the most common reason is that the battery is running down or nearly flat. Simply open up the Airkey and replace the battery with a new A23 or 23A 12 Volt battery.
- The battery can be changed by removing the Philips screw located in the back of the Airkey. For a silent movie showing how to change the battery, click here.
- The most effective way of hastening the demise of a perfectly good Airkey (short of smashing it with a hammer) is to expose it to baby dribble or other fluids. While an Airkey is splash resistant, it is not designed to be water proof. It is preferable to ensure that exposure to fluids is avoided wherever possible.
I am using an Airkey for work. Can I use it on my garage door at home?
- Most Airkeys can be easily used at home by having a gate automation or access control company install an Airkey receiver connected to your gate or garage door motor controller.
